Choosing a Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast augmentation is a type of cosmetic plastic surgery specifically designed to increase a patient's bustline while enhancing their self confidence. In this aesthetic procedure, which often lasts less than two hours, the plastic surgeon creates an incision in one of four places: the patient's armpit, the underside of the breast, around the areola or through the patient's navel. Implants are then inserted into the breasts in order to enlarge and reshape the breasts. The surgeon may choose to perform the procedure at an onsite surgical facility in which the surgeon will provide a nurse to care for the patient overnight. Breast augmentation is not to be confused with the breast lift procedure in which a surgeon actually removes part of the breast and tones and tightens the rest. Some patients actually undergo a breast lift and breast augmentation during the same surgical visit to dramatically enhance their bustline.
