Eric Donnenfeld, MD, began his career at Dartmouth College, where he completed both an undergraduate and medical degree with honors. After medical school, Dr. Eric Donnenfeld performed an ophthalmology residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and an anterior segment and refractive surgery fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is the Medical Director of the TLC Laser Eye Centers and a founding partner of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI).

He holds leadership positions with several highly regarded medical organizations, including President of the Nassau Surgical Society, Program Director of the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau County Medical Society, and Director of Ophthalmology of the Nassau Academy of Medicine. Dr. Donnenfeld believes in staying abreast of the latest ophthalmologic technologies and techniques in order to offer patients some of the most sophisticated procedures available. His surgical suite is equipped with some of the most state-of-the-art technologies on the market, including the Visx Star S4 IR laser, the Alcon autonomous laser, and the Bausch and Lomb Technolas laser. He performs several techniques of refractive surgery, including LASIK, Custom LASIK, photorefractive keratectomy, conductive keratoplasty and cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs).

LASIK in Long Island

Patients undergo Long Island LASIK with Dr. Donnenfeld within minutes in his comforting surgical facility. He begins the procedure by creating a unique map of the patient's eyes, which is later calibrated into the excimer laser. Then, he creates and lifts a small flap in the cornea and administers the excimer laser to correct for flaws in the cornea. Once complete, the flap is returned to its original position, where it acts as a natural bandage to the eye. Following the procedure, patients often note great improvements in their vision with little to no discomfort.
