Dr. Carl F. Clavenna is a board-certified ophthalmologist and founder of the Clavenna Vision Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, and a Master of Science in human physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He then received further medical training at the Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed an internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Ophthalmology at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He continues to be involved with academia by serving as an instructor at William Beaumont Hospital, where he is actively involved in the development of the hospital's excimer laser program and the progress of its ophthalmology students. As a result of his extensive expertise in eye surgery, Dr. Clavenna has gained membership into several prominent medical associations, including the American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians. He has earned much acclaim from his peers and was recognized as one of America's top ophthalmologists by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
